Cardiovascular Wrapping

Wrap my heart like a present for the next of kin/
Battlescarred and omnipotent/
Fought my loqacious battles
Grip tenacious on memories of the lost one's faces
Let my armor fall
naked
The greatest compliment I've made yet
Walking hand in hand with my love to the sunset
Beholden to lilac hues with spatterings of baby blue
It's a flashback to
Plick plack platterings of raindrops battering on the windows to calamity
My greatest triumph is also a momentous defeat
To love so truly is the illusion of linear time
Watch the skeins of glimmering spider web unwind
She gazes with passion into my eyes
I fell from grace like shooting stars littering a night sky
The last wilted petal abandons the rose
Falling uncharted into the depths of my soul
What was once filled by her gaze now an echoing abode
As above so below
Both moments resides side by side on the pockmarked tapestry of time
Taking potshots in the timeless war of heart and mind

Battles waged on the glass staircase of my spine
